Inclusive Job Descriptions
We really want to hire people who are Neurodiverse
but we fail at the very beginning of that process
We have these job description that are archaic
Manager 1 comes in and creates the Job Description
Manager 2 comes in and changes it
Manager 3 comes in and ads to it
years down the road we've got a job description
that no longer makes sense
for most people who are Neurodiverse
otherwise they are not going to apply
what we need to do, is break the job description down into actionable tasks
skills required for the job and look over the next 12-months
not the next 12 years
we live in a world
that's going through complete transformation
nobody can say that job is going to look the same
in the next 12-months
let alone the next 12 years
so we need to pull that job description apart
we need to get back to basics and think; what actually is this job?
what skills do we require of an individual to do that job well
and do we need all of them?
or do we just need some of them and how does that fit into the team
of we can get that right we are going to open up the doors
because they'll see where their skills
fit into that job and that organisation
